Whether you are a fitness buff or just someone looking to lose weight, one of the best apps to download on your Smartphone is the MyFitnessPal.com app. This app is a miracle worker – it assists you in your weight loss goals by tracking your diet and your exercise, and hence is better (and obviously more reliable) than a fitness buddy!

So, forget about nagging your spouse or best friend to follow a diet program with you or accompany you for your morning jog. With the MyFitness Pal, the only “pal” you need is really your phone!

The MyFitnessPal.com app lets you create a personal profile. Once you enter your current weight and your ideal weight, it tells you how many calories you need to burn every day to achieve the goal. At the end of the day, the app will tell you whether you stayed on course with your diet and fitness routine or strayed from the path. One of my favorite trainers, Blair Baxter, of 3d Fitness in Ambler, PA gave me one of the best tips when using MyFitness Pal.  Log in your food … the day before your eat it.  That’s right, on Sunday, log in the food that you plan to eat on Monday. This way you are planning your meal is it lowers the chance that you will over eat when eating on a whim.

For all our iOS members who updated to 5.0 and experienced an issue. First our sincerest apologies. We have just submitted one update, we hope will help with the majority of problems. This update should now be live in the App store and is version 5.0.1.

Please update the app to see if that helps. If updating does not help, you may then want to try uninstalling and reinstalling the app to see if that works, and verify the reinstall has put you on version 5.0.1. Also, please know we are still working on any lingering issues and hope to have another update out as soon as possible.

If you have also been experiencing an issue with Fitbit since the update, please know this was merely coincidence. Due to a delay we experienced, a back log of requests was created. The issue has been cleared, but unfortunately the back log is still needing to process. We are hoping this should be clear in the next day or so, and normal flow should return. Until then you may experience some syncs and others may not show.
