What You Can Eat?
Most people assume the Paleo Diet is hard to follow and boring, but this is far from the truth.
- Fill up on vegetables but avoid starchy vegetables such as white potatoes.
- You can eat any kind of seeds or nuts except peanuts because they are classified as legumes.
- Most meats and eggs are allowed, but avoid products with additives and try to buy organic if you can. So you can enjoy beef, chicken, turkey, fish, seafood, and pork (yes, this includes bacon).
- Fruits should be eaten in moderation but don’t consume too many fruits because some fruits such as bananas and grapes are high in sugar.
- If you are wondering about oils, your best bets are coconut oil, walnut oil, lard, and canola oil.
- Drinking plenty of water is highly encouraged on this diet. Don’t drink carbonated beverages and limit alcohol.
The Paleo Diet is meant to mimic the diet of the caveman. It is believed this diet will give you energy and help you lose weight. Before you start making drastic changes to your current diet, you are advised to seek a doctor’s opinion.
